Meditation and Easy Listening

Chintan
Artist: Pt. Ved Prakash Phondani & chorus
Om is complete in itself. Om is chanted whether one is praying to the Nirgun or to the Sagun. Since ages, man by nature has been praying to one or the other. It's this obeisance, which makes man evolved and different from the other living beings. But if a person has to get out of the cycle of life, death and rebirth, then he must do meditation of the supreme Om. In fact, in this universe, only Om is complete in all respects and forms. It is for this reason that our great sage Ved Vyas has said, "Pranvam Mantranam Setu," meaning Om is the bridge to God. Therefore every mantra as given in the Vedas starts and ends with Om. Om is the essence of all mantras. Om is the Shakti, the power, which lies within the mantras. Without the power of Om, the mantras would not have the power to bestow the divine grace on the person. Thus meditation of Om is beneficial to man. Om is the name of Brahman and is symbolic of the consciousness. Om is Brahman itself.

Music for Relaxation - Jal
Artist: Pt. Mukesh Sharma and Dr. Ojesh Pratap Singh
There are very few sounds in nature that are more tranquil than the gentle swish of water. Just the mental images of raindrops on a windowpane, or waves washing across a beach, or a slow, meandering stream are sufficient to create a sense of calmness.
This album uses the various sounds of water, blended together with Indian classical music to help the listeners relax. Both the instrument used in this album – sarod, as well as the raag in which it has been played, have a soothing effect on the body and the mind.

Music for Relaxation - Vayu
Artist: Rohit Anand and Dr. Ojesh Pratap Singh

The Tatwa Series is a collection of five albums that have been designed and conceived as music for meditation and relaxation.

These products are based on the Buddhist system of meditation wherein it is believed that the five elements present in the universe (Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Space) are also present in our body. The presence of these elements in our beings can be harmonized with their existence in the universe through the music and instructions given in these albums.
Tatwa Air
Artist: Pt. Rohit Anand, Dr. Ojesh Pratap Singh, Manuji
The instrument used in this album is the Indian bamboo reed flute. The sounds from this wind instrument are used to harmonize the air element in our being with the air element in the cosmos. The flute has been played in raag Hamsadhwani, a raag that is commonly used in Indian classical music. The soothing and peaceful sound of the flute creates relaxing vibrations that aid the process of meditation. To enhance the feeling of peacefulness, the instrumental music has been overlaid with vocals in the ‘aalaap’ form.
Tatwa Earth
Artist: Pt. Sheetal Prasad Mishra, Vizy Rodricks, Manuji
The instruments used in this album are the Indian percussion instrument 'pakhavaj' and the western drums. The basic rhythm on the pakhavaj is the 'teen taal'. Teen taal is symbolic of the timelessness of the universe and is often used in Indian classical music. Percussion instruments have been used to replicate the feeling of solidity provided by the Earth. The sounds from the pakhavaj and the drums synchronize the earth element in our body with the earth element in the cosmos. Their frenetic pace is symbolic of the Earth and its life-sustaining properties
Tatwa Fire
Artist: Pt. Sunil Saxena, Dr. Ojesh Pratap Singh, Manuji

Tatwa Water
Artist: Pt. Mukesh Sharma, Dr. Ojesh Pratap Singh, Manuji
The instrument used in this album is the 'sarod'. The sounds from this string instrument are used to harmonize the water element in our self with the water element in the cosmos. The soothing sounds of the sarod create a feeling of peacefulness and serenity, to help the mind relax. The sarod has been played in raag Bhairav, a raag that is commonly used in Indian devotional music. To enhance the meditative feeling, the instrumental music has been overlaid with vocals in the 'aalaap' form.
Tatwa Space
Artist: Ustad Murad Ali, Dr. Ojesh Pratap Singh, Manuji

The soothing and peaceful music of the sarangi creates serene vibrations that help the mind reach a meditative state. The sarangi has been played in raag Darbari; a raag that is frequently used in serious Indian classical music, or when the mood is solemn. To enhance the feeling of calmness, the instrumental music has been overlaid with vocals in the 'aalaap' form.

If the thought of ‘having to relax’ stresses you out; if you wake up feeling even more tired than when you went to sleep; if you spend more time trying to go to sleep than sleeping, then you should try Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra is a qualitatively different ‘sleep’. It alters the state of the mind and its consciousness. When you practice Yoga Nidra, you let go of everyday tensions in order to attain a more peaceful state. Even though the literal translation of Yoga Nidra is yogic sleep, it’s not about being asleep. Rather, it is about being in a relaxed state of awareness while being awake.
Yoga Nidra is based on the esoteric Vedic science of yoga. Unlike yoga, however, Yoga Nidra is not the traditional practice of aasans, but the practice of mind control to be able to go to sleep. What people often do not realize is that sleep does not always equal relaxation. Sleep is a function of the restfulness of the mind. If the mind is not at rest, then sleep is elusive. The practice of Yoga Nidra puts the mind to rest, making it possible to attain deep, restful, peaceful sleep. When you practice Yoga Nidra you can unlock hitherto untouched parts of your mind. It is a meditative practice that can assist you in going beyond the conscious level.
In addition to helping you relax in the true sense of the word, the practice of Yoga Nidra has a number of health benefits. It is effective in helping people deal with addictions, sleep disorders and stress. It can lower blood pressure and improve the immune system. Yoga Nidra can aid in the treatment of psychosomatic disorders such as asthma, migraine and ulcers. It is also preventive in nature, helping to protect against the occurrence of stress-induced problems such as insomnia.
